So, Monday was my first day at home all day with our little guy since Kari went back to work. It went well, I suppose. There were a couple of times he didn't want to take the bottle, but I heated the milk up a little more and he took it then. It was probably just a little too cold still.
Kari was off work yesterday so today is my second day with the little man alone. Today seems to be going better than Monday did. He hasn't been too fussy and he's been napping more than he did on Monday too. Never for a long time, but more often and that gives daddy a break so that he can relax a little until the next time Buster Brown wakes up and says, "FEED ME!"
This is all a very new experience for me and one that I never really expected to find myself in. I always wanted a family, but I never actually visualized it happening...and certainly not as soon as it did. It's still so weird to me that we have this little Xerox copy of ourselves and that he's going to grow up and watch us get old and replace us. Such a weird feeling.
Now that I am not working during the week I am hoping to be able to use this time to work a bit more on what I actually want to do for the rest of my life. I am hoping that I can work on my acting career more, but if I have to spend all my time feeding, burping, changing and napping him I don't know how much I'll actually get to do. I don't mind taking care of him and being his daddy, but it just seems like everything has to still be on hold for a while.
